On Iraq
The longer we stay, the worse it will get. Not only in Iraq but here as well. The lives of millions of people are at risk of serious injury and (or) death every day in Iraq, and we are supporting it with our tax dollars and the tax dollars of our chlidren and grandchildren. All the while, the real culprits behind 9-11 are free to organize even more mayhem in the name of Allah. Praise Allah! This president and his administration must be removed and held accountable for thier actions.
What is God?
During my childhood God was the entity who would judge whether my actions on Earth warranted entry into Heaven upon my death. The alternative to Heaven, Hell, being most unpleasant and should be avoided at all costs. But the notion of “God the Judge” has never felt right to me. What does feel right to me is my idea that God is not necessarily some “all knowing” or “all powerful” benevolent being off in Heaven somewhere, but instead is the part of me that is consciousness. God and I are part of the cosmic dust, the stuff from the big bang, which can now look at itself and know that it is part of the original singularity. If there is consciousness now, and there is, then there had to have been consciousness then. So the consciousness that directs my physical body is a piece of the whole Consciousness. God is also the power that holds electrons in orbit about nuclei and planets in orbit of their suns, the force behind the physics. God is the source that attracted all the right components necessary to build up bio mass and animate it. God is matter and energy, the two basic polar opposites.

We are the created and we are the creators.
We create our own reality in the image and likeness of those creators before us, literally building on the backs of giants.
We all have our own little spheres of influence. What is held in mind and believed with the heart is (in time) attracted to us, is influenced by our thoughts, emotions and feelings and then emanates out through our actions, words and expressions. These emanations co-mingle with everyone else’s and are influenced by them as well as influencing them. I believe we are all co-creators of our present and future realities.

What I see in the Lord’s Prayer:
Whether you believe Jesus is the “Son” of God or that he is a creation of some incredibly mystical writers from long past is not important. What is important is to see how his teachings are valuable tools for prosperous living.
With that in mind, I present some thoughts regarding the Lord’s Prayer we sing in “church” on Sunday mornings:
“Our Father, which art in Heaven; Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done; On Earth as it is in Heaven; Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever”
I believe Jesus said something to the extent that the Kingdom of Heaven is within each of us and that the Father lives within the Kingdom. So, to say “Our Father, which art in Heaven”, is to focus the mind onto the center of being, the heart chakra, or as Bob says, “move from the head to the heart”.
“Hallowed be Thy Name”; one definition of hallowed is blessed, which can mean worthy of worship. Worship is defined as the reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object. So, in other words, my center, my soul, my spark of life, the part that connects me to everything else, is worthy of worship.
“Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done; On Earth as it is in Heaven”. The kingdom being referred to is the kingdom within. From this kingdom within, I perceive of and co-create reality, along with everyone else. I know this may sound weird for some, but upon a lot of reflection (both voluntarily and coerced), I can really see how my past mind-sets and actions (conscious and unconscious) have brought me to where I am at this moment. And to continue along that line of reasoning, my current mind-set and actions are going to affect my future moments.
“Give us this day our daily bread”; from my center, life energy (or bread) is produced and radiates outwardly as me.
“and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors”; don’t hold grudges, live and let live, forgive and be forgiven. Forgive yourself, for even being offended in the first place. I frequently find myself forgetting all this stuff and getting offended at some thing or another. It’s only when I remember that we are all playing out our own little dramas, with each other, in this grand illusion, that I really forgive and am forgiven (by my self).
“and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”; or as I like to say “leave us not in temptation, but deliver us from ego”. Look before you leap. Think before doing. What would Jesus do? Don’t go there if you know it’s gonna be something you’ll regret.
“for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.”; Jesus knew what human kind was and is capable of.
raaaah-mennnn.
